What is an Event Badge SBT? On-Chain Credentials Explained
Learn how Soulbound Token (SBT) event badges replace disposable wristbands, verify authentic conference participation, and build Web3 on-chain reputation.
Definition:
An Event Badge SBT is an immutable, non-transferable Soulbound Token minted directly to an attendee's blockchain wallet upon scanning their check-in QR code at a venue door, providing permanent, unforgeable cryptographic proof of physical participation.
Why Event Badge SBTs Surpass Traditional Wristbands
- Unforgeable Credential: Paper wristbands and lanyards are easily copied or transferred; an SBT is cryptographically anchored to a specific wallet.
- Permanent Community Proof: Months or years after the conference, protocols can query on-chain SBT holders to distribute exclusive alumni perks, governance votes, or hackathon grants.
- Zero Environmental Waste: Eliminates tens of thousands of single-use plastic badges and wristbands generated at global summits.
