What is FDV-Gated Vesting (FairLock)? Protecting Token Float on TON

Learn how FDV-Gated Smart Contract Vesting (FairLock) locks team, investor, and macro treasury tokens on-chain until a target market valuation milestone is reached.

Definition:
FDV-Gated Smart Contract Vesting (FairLock) is an on-chain token locking mechanism where team, advisor, private sale, and macro reserve allocations cannot unlock solely based on the passage of time. Instead, the smart contract enforces a valuation condition—rejecting withdrawal transactions on-chain until the token reaches a verified Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) milestone.

Why Time-Only Vesting Fails Communities

In traditional crypto projects, team and VC tokens unlock on a fixed calendar schedule regardless of whether the product has achieved market traction. This creates relentless sell pressure during bear markets, as seen in early Optimism ($OP) and Friends With Benefits ($FWB) cycles.

How ONTON Enforces 625.51M $ONIT Proof-of-Lock on TON

On TON Mainnet, ONTON DAO indexes 940 TBook FairLock contracts:

  • 100% Unlocked Community Contracts (840 Child Contracts): 583 Genesis ONION NFT child contracts and 257 FairLaunch child contracts have is_fdv_locked = false and can be claimed in 1 tap (opcode 0x000c1001) via /my/vault or onton.live/dao.
  • Hard-Locked Macro Plans (625,510,543 $ONIT / 62.55% of Supply): All 6 Macro Plans (200M Community DAO, 100M Ecosystem, 100M Founding Team, 100M Advisors, 100M Private Sale, 25.51M Integration Grants) and 93 Partner Grants have is_fdv_locked = true on-chain until the $20M FDV milestone, reverting with TVM exit code 5401 if any early claim is attempted.
